Wood

I recently finished a couple of shop projects: one for some clients with a great bookshelf and even better books, and the other is a prototype built with 1st growth fir timber, which was recycled from lumber pulled out of the original Vancouver Hudsons Bay department store.  I managed to finish the bench with no help from glue or fasteners…stoked!

Gastown

Yesterday was the annual Tour de Gastown.  Thanks to Jon at I.E. for hosting, it was great to see everyone down there.  Both the mens and womens races were taken by Vancouver riders!

West Coast BBQ

This weekend our friend Stuart invited us to the family lodge on Gambier Island for a BBQ.  You can’t beat the Epic West Coast.  Thanks to Stuart and Natalie, and Pat, Stacey, Ian and Ivy.  Hope to go back soon!

Learning Curve

I recently finished designing a new catalog for my friends over at www.redflagdesign.ca

The photoshoot was super relaxed and fun, thank you Cody and Miki (”The Dream Team”) for coming in at the last minute!

The Red Flag crew also helped me make these leather “Lock Doctors” for Tyler over at Super Champion. They are made from recycled 1/8th leather, stamped, and dipped in Redwing boot oil.  They will work with standard belts of 1 1/2″ and can be used with most U-locks.  No more broken back pockets on your favorite denims.  Available exclusively at Super Champion (www.superchampionshop.com).

Recently I seem to be spending alot of time in the metal and wood shops.  I am super lucky:  MIG, TIG, Oxy-acetylene, Plasma cutter…more to follow if all goes as planned.
